FIDM x HIGH SCHOOL

The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising is excited to introduce the second installment of The FIDM x High School Mentorship Program.

This program is designed to allow high school and college students the opportunity to work closely on a “real world” collaboration.

Each program will offer your student interaction within a discipline for which FIDM readies its graduates. The hands-on approach offers students the chance to develop skills in preparation for college and a career.

Students will have the opportunity to:

• Participate and interact with advanced students

• Gain valuable insight into the industry

• Complete a project ready for college applications and interviews

• Meet with their FIDM student mentor over 3 remote sessions

• Mentoring session with an FIDM instructor to review the project they have completed throughout their sessions

What makes the ideal candidate?

• Some background or interest in design or product development

• Looking to diversify and grow their skills

• Sophomore, junior, or senior in high school

Requirements

• Minimum 3.5 GPA

• Completed application form

• Please include all of the following in a PDF format:

  • Recommendation letter from administrator, counselor, or instructor

  • Basic sketching skills—please attach 1-3 drawings, illustrations or sketches

  • Written Personal statement
